As Fabrigated in Spain - Cesc unpicks Russian lock out
Cesc Fabregas came on as a substitute for David Villa last night and almst singlehandedly undid Russia with his movement, flicks, passes and overall display of a pocket general that outshone the pre-match hype surrounding Andrei Arshavin. Fabregas as he did in the San Siro for Arsenal was magesterial. The waiting Germans in Sunday’s final will be scared witless. History may say the Germans always find an extra dimension when needed on the big stage, but all the football evidence of the semi finals says that Spain could run riot. In the end the bookies were right. Both Germany and Spain were short odds from the off.
