Bet on which group scores the most goals

There are more than 33 kinds of bets offered on the Euro 2008 matches. One of the more unusual bets is which group will produce the most goals. The betting is tight but curious.

Favourites are Group B with Germany and Croatia fancied to score plenty at Poland and hosts Austria’s expense. The thinking must be that Austria have the most vulnerable defence in the championship. Group A is second favourite with Portugal backed to thump Turkey although Switzerland are known for their good defensive work.

Tightest of all is the Group C with Italy, France, Holland and Romania expected to eeke out tight 1-0s despite the fact that the French forward line is looking formidable, as is Holland’s attack and Italy can draw on hidden reserves of goalscoring when they have to.
