The English Premier League dream team for Euro 2008

By Arthur King | May 27th, 2008

What a team the English Premier League could put out in Euro 2008?

Chelsea’s Petr Cech in goal (don’t worry if he gets injured again, the likes of Edwin van der Sar or Pepe Reina can step in), and in front of him a back four of Patrice Evra, Ricardo Carvalho, William Gallas and Vedran Corluka. Most teams would struggle to find a way past these!

In midfield we have a brick wall combined with an eye for the killer pass. Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas lines up alongside Chelsea’s Michael Ballack and Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso in a mouthwatering midfield combination.

That leaves a three pronged attack. Fernando Torres will be ably assisted by Cristiano Ronaldo on one side, and Robin Van Persie on the other. Sheer class. If only England could be represented by it’s superb Premier League – time to give Mr. Platini a call and see if the rules can be changed…!
