SWISS ROLL

European Soccer Championship 2008 Switzerland Group A Frei

Switzerland are ranked 46 in the world by FIFA. On paper the co-hiosts are the weakest team in their group. But they are improving. They lost out to France and England at the group stage in 2004 and made the last eight of the World Cup without conceding a goal.

They are team without stars but they have solid players such as Bayer Leverkusen’s Tranquillo Barnetta, Dortmund’s Alexander Frei and Arsenal’s controversial Philippe Senderos at the back. And they are at home.

And they have been picking up eye catching results in friendlies including a draw against Argentina and victories over Holland and co-hosts Austria. Worth a bet for the last eight for sure and they are very juicy odds at the moment for a team that could sneak into the semis until they meet a class act that is firing on all cylinders.
