How humiliating for poor old Steve Maclaren (oh well I needed the money and to remind everyone I still have not got a job) watching Croatia batter Germany. At least the Croats showed that maybe their dismemberment of England was not a complete fluke and they could yet be dark horses. They were 10/1 to win this morning.

But Steve then what about Gus Hiddink’s Russia disembowled by four goals by the Spanish. How bad is that? Are we really that awful? Shed a tear, Steve. Shed a tear.
